All our hire fleet torque multipliers are manufactured by Norbar, the industry leader. Torque multipliers are used when a torque value is needed which exceeds the maximum settings of torque wrenches or the work space is limited not allowing longer torque wrenches enough room. The multipliers work by attaching a normal torque wrench, then through the gearing within the multiplier the output increases based on a simple multiplication ratio such as 5:1, 25:1 or even 125:1 depending on the torque multipliers setting. Therefore a torque wrench with a max capacity of 74nm could produce a torque value of 9500nm by using a 9500nm 125:1 torque multiplier.
