LED work lighting using 'chip on board' (COB) LED's are the new generation of work lights. The LED lighting are safer due to the low heat output compared with halogen lighting and in addition the COB's are less likely to be damaged due to impact when compared with halogen lamps. The LED lighting tripods are fully foldable so are compact for transport and also have a varying height setting. The lights also have a lower energy usage for example the double head tripod only uses 60 watts compared to 1000 watts for a halogen light equivalent.
